Meet Your Birth Photographers/Doulas

Loren Haar

Born and raised in the Southern California beach town of Ventura, I am a birth and newborn family photographer with a decade of experience telling stories with my photos. I’m passionate about preserving memories in a way that feels authentic. As a mom of three and married to my husband for almost 20 years, I understand the beauty of connection and the importance of family. Whether it’s a wedding or event, the miracle of birth, or a family day-in-the-life session, I’m dedicated to preserving those fleeting moments that make life beautiful.

I have been serving clients for nine years now — birth, newborns, families, weddings, stage productions, even pre-school portraits. I have realized over the years that my love is really for birth work—documenting those super special moments for families. I photographed my first birth in 2016 (it ended in a C-section — hence the photo of me in scrubs, ready to enter the Operating Room).

Emily Storz

I’m a passionate birth photographer, born and raised in Ventura, with over 8 years of experience capturing families in all of their phases. My passion for birth photography was born from my own journey into motherhood. After experiencing the life-changing miracle of bringing my two sons into the world, I became deeply fascinated by pregnancy, birth, and the transformative process of becoming a mother. It is truly magical

I believe in the power of storytelling through imagery, and my mission is to capture the intimate, unspoken moments that define the birth experience—moments that you can treasure for a lifetime. With each birth I photograph, I am honored to witness the strength and love that comes with bringing new life into the world.

When I’m not behind the lens, you’ll find me spending time with my wonderful husband of 6+ years and our two amazing boys. I’d be honored to be part of your journey and to help preserve the memories of one of the most beautiful chapters of your life.

When You Hire Us…

Inclusive Support

Every single birth is worth celebrating and we believe that all births are beautiful, important, and significant. Whether you're delivering at home, in a birth center, or in a hospital, we work seamlessly alongside your birth team to document your experience.

Discretion and Respect

We understand that inviting someone into your birth space is a deeply personal decision. That’s why we prioritize discretion and respect in every birth we document. Many of the families we’ve worked with say they hardly noticed we were there—but when they see their images, they’re amazed at how many powerful, tender, and fleeting moments were captured.

Professionalism

We are skilled professionals with quality equipment and years of experience. We understand how to be present during birth without adding to your stress or being an extra concern.

What is a Doulatog?

How we do both photography and doula at the same time? That’s a great question!
Sometimes called “Doulatogs” we are birth photographers who are also trained and certified as birth doulas. Having someone skilled in both areas is definitely advantageous! This dual role reduces the number of people at your birth, which is beneficial, since birth center and home births can sometimes feel cramped and hospitals can sometimes restrict the number of people allowed at your birth. It also helps save money, making it easier for those on a budget to access both services.

Above all, we want to help you have a safe and positive birth experience so we are both trained and certified as doulas should you choose to book both services.
